Russia strikes Ukrainian bridge as German Chancellor Merz visits Kyiv | BBC News

A BBC News report on Russian drone strikes on major bridges in Kyiv over four consecutive days. Two people were injured when the Pivnichnyi (Northern) Bridge was struck on Sunday morning, the second day in a row it was hit. The Pivdennyi (Southern) Bridge was also hit multiple times earlier in the week. The report links the attacks to German Chancellor Friedrich Merz's surprise visit to Kyiv, held as a show of support during Russia's continuing full-scale invasion. Russia's military said it would intensify strikes on Kyiv and other Ukrainian regions, and that it had hit the two bridges used to transfer Ukrainian troops.
