Car carrying married couple falls into irrigation canal in Saga, wife dies

A car carrying a married couple fell into an irrigation canal in Kanzaki, Saga Prefecture. According to police, a call to emergency services was made shortly before 9 p.m. on the 12th by the driver. The wife, 51, was taken to hospital unconscious and her death was later confirmed. The husband, 52, is reported to be conscious, and the extent of his injuries is unknown; police are investigating how the accident happened.

佐賀県神埼市で夫婦が乗った車が用水路に転落し、51歳の妻が死亡しました。 　警察によりますと、12日午後9時前、神埼市千代田町迎島で「運転していた車が川に転落した。まだ脱出できていない」と当事者の男性から110番通報がありました。 　警察が現場に駆け付けると、福岡県久留米市の山口敬三さん（52）と丹美さん（51）夫婦が乗っていた普通乗用車が用水路に転落していて、2人は車外に出ていましたが用水路内にいる状態だったということです。 　この事故で、丹美さんが意識不明の状態で病院に搬送されましたが、その後、死亡が確認されました。 　敬三さんのけがの程度は不明ですが、意識はあるということです。 　警察が詳しい事故の経緯を調べています。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
