Dark flock filling the sky: “Neither crows nor pigeons” [Super J Channel] (October 28, 2026)

In central Shizuoka City, large numbers of starlings gather in trees each evening. The birds fly higher than high-rise apartment buildings and, about an hour after arriving, occupy the trees in large flocks. Some nearby residents say they avoid walking under the trees because droppings fall there. The report notes that starling numbers are declining across Japan but increasing in urban areas.
