Vehicle with Israeli plates and reserve battalion: how Israeli media report the attack

Israeli outlet Walla reported that gunfire targeted a reserve battalion under the Israeli Home Front Command. Citing Israel's Channel 14, an Al Jazeera correspondent said soldiers from the Ari battalion were stationed at the checkpoint, their first operational deployment. Israeli security assessments hold that the two attackers arrived in a vehicle with Israeli registration plates and were planning a larger attack, which a temporary checkpoint prevented.
