Japanese woman in her 20s reportedly killed in South Korea; Korean man in his 30s arrested

A Japanese woman in her 20s was found dead in an apartment in Cheonan, in central South Korea, according to South Korean police. Police said they arrested a South Korean man in his 30s on suspicion of murder, and that he has admitted the charge. The man reportedly told investigators that losses from stock investing left him without a clear future, and that he did not want to die alone. Police believe the two had met only a few times and were not in a relationship.

韓国中部の集合住宅で20代の日本人女性が死亡しているのが見つかり、韓国警察は殺人の疑いで30代の韓国人の男を逮捕したと発表しました。「1人で死ぬのが怖かった」と供述しているということです。 　韓国警察によりますと、男は28日夕方ごろ、天安（チョナン）市の集合住宅の一室で、20代の日本人女性をあらかじめ用意した凶器で刺して殺害した疑いが持たれています。 　女性の知人から通報を受けた警察が駆け付けたところ、部屋で倒れている女性を発見したということです。 　男は逃走していましたが、29日未明に約120キロ離れた場所で逮捕されました。 　男は容疑を認めていて、犯行の動機について「株式投資による損失で将来が見通せず自殺を決意したが、1人で死ぬのが怖く、知り合いだった女性とともに死のうと思った」と供述していることが分かりました。 　警察は2人について、3回ほど会った程度で交際関係ではないとみていて、ストーカー被害などの通報もなかったとしています。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
