Man detained over killing of Japanese woman in South Korea; arrest warrant under review

A man in his 30s, a South Korean national, has been transferred to court while a warrant for his arrest is under review, in connection with the killing of a Japanese woman in her 20s at an apartment complex in South Korea. According to police, the man was detained after allegedly stabbing the woman at an apartment in Cheonan on the evening of the 28th. He is reported to have told investigators that he decided to end his life over investment losses but was afraid to die alone. The woman had reportedly just entered South Korea this month and is not believed to have been in a relationship with the man.

韓国の集合住宅で20代の日本人女性が殺害された事件で、韓国人の男の身柄が裁判所に移送され、逮捕状の審査が行われています。 　警察によりますと、韓国人の30代の男は28日夕方、天安（チョナン）市にある集合住宅で20代の日本人女性を刺して殺害したとして、身柄が拘束されていました。 　現在、裁判所で審査されていて、逮捕状が出されれば引き続き身柄が拘束され詳しい捜査が進められます。 　男は調べに対し、「投資の損失で自殺を決意したが、1人で死ぬのが怖かった」と供述しています。 　女性は今月、韓国に入国したばかりで、男とは交際関係にはなかったとみられています。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
