Personal Data of South Korean President and Officials Leaked, Published on Paid Site for 5 Months
The South Korean government said on the 3rd that passport information of President Lee Jae-myung, his wife Kim Hae-kyung and others had leaked onto the internet. The leaked material was a passenger manifest from the presidential aircraft, reportedly available on a paid website for about five months. According to Korean media, the list included details of 168 people, among them the presidential couple, senior officials and accompanying reporters. The Foreign Ministry said passports are being reissued for everyone concerned and described the incident as an information leak rather than hacking.
