Floods in eastern Syria kill one, leave people missing and cut main roads

The Syrian state news agency SANA reported one death and several missing people after floods hit areas west of Tabqa in Raqqa Governorate, eastern Syria. An Al Jazeera correspondent said the Raqqa-Aleppo and Raqqa-Deir ez-Zor roads were cut by flash floods caused by rainfall in eastern regions. The Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management said it rescued 15 people and assisted about 100 families affected by the collapse of a river ferry in rural Raqqa.
