Complex effects of the Houthi siege on residents of Taiz

This report examines the consequences of the siege imposed on the city of Taiz for several years, based on remarks by military analyst and strategist Brig. Gen. Dr. Ali al-Dhahab. He says the military confrontation could last given the absence of clear signs of a decisive outcome. The siege has become a tool of political and military pressure, he notes, while the humanitarian suffering of residents grows and shelling of populated areas continues. He also criticises the slow ground progress compared with the four announced phases of Operation Fajr Yemen.
