Environmental crisis in Taiz deepens health threat to residents

An environmental crisis in the Yemeni city of Taiz is worsening as tons of waste pile up. Local authorities cannot transport the garbage to designated disposal sites because of the siege imposed on the city by the Houthi movement, according to the report. Foul odours and smoke from burning waste are adding to air pollution and the risk of disease and insects in nearby residential areas.
