The Next Agricultural Revolution | Arvind Narayanan | TEDxRathinam Technical Campus
Agriculture's next transformation depends on linking farming technology with capital, infrastructure, farmers and markets, according to this TEDxRathinam Technical Campus talk by Arvind Narayanan. He draws on his work with AgResearch Labs, an Indian aeroponic research and farming hub, and Growize Farms, a fully managed aeroponic farm that people can take part in by owning a piece of it. The talk examines how aeroponics and new approaches to agricultural infrastructure could help feed people affordably without exhausting the planet, as climate change and soil exhaustion strain food systems.

A farming breakthrough can change how we grow food—but what does it take to put it to work at scale? The talk explores why agriculture’s next transformation depends on connecting technology with capital, infrastructure, farmers and markets. Drawing on his work building AgResearch Labs (ARL) and Growize Farms, he examines how aeroponics and new approaches to agricultural infrastructure could help address the unfinished challenge of feeding people without exhausting the planet. Imagine if everyone, everywhere, could access clean & safe food affordably. That’s the dream I’ve been chasing for 14 years, and that's what gets me out of bed every morning. I’m one of the Founders of AgResearch Labs - India’s own aeroponic research and farming hub. And Growize Farms is where we’ve made it possible for anyone to participate in building India’s clean food grid by owning a piece of the fully managed aeroponic farm. A decade ago, I started asking how we could grow clean food that is affordable for everyone? That curiosity led to AgResearch Labs. And the question is most relevant today as we face climate change and soil exhaustion, which stresses our food security system. After years of learning and experimenting, it grew into Growize Farms, which solves these challenges. Every year, every acre of these farms feeds 70,000 people, saves 400 million litres of water, conserves 36 acres of land and cuts 70 tons of CO2. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
