The Seesaw of Success is a personal story of rising from humble beginnings through a remarkable cycle of failure, curiosity, learning, achievement, and transformation. From childhood struggles and academic setbacks to becoming a topper, achieving 99.37% in GATE, overcoming repeated failures in competitive examinations and NET attempts, and progressing through research challenges and failed experiments, the journey demonstrates that setbacks can become powerful stepping stones to success. The journey extends beyond personal achievement into scientific innovation, publications, leadership, and institutional transformation, from a child in mud to Muddy Professor, Head, Dean, and leader of innovation, IPR, incubation, external-interface, and campus-development initiatives at Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, founded by Swami Shraddhanand during the challenging era of British rule. The talk challenges the myth of a straight path to success and presents life as a seesaw: every fall can generate the momentum for the next rise i.e. Fall. Learn. Adapt. Rise. Repeat. Prof. Satyendra Kumar Rajput is an eminent researcher, seasoned academician, and academic leader with over two decades of experience in pharmaceutical sciences. His expertise spans pharmacology, toxicology, drug discovery, herbal therapeutics, and AYUSH-based product development, with extensive research across neurological, cardiovascular, metabolic, hepatic, and oncological disorders. Currently associated with Gurukula Kangri University, he has held several key academic and institutional leadership roles, contributing to research, innovation, IPR, incubation, industry–academia collaboration, and academic development. Through his work as a researcher, mentor, and institutional leader, he continues to contribute to the advancement of pharmaceutical sciences and the translation of scientific research into meaningful healthcare solutions.
