Tina Liu, a well-known Hong Kong film art director and costume designer, speaks at TEDxLion Rock about creating something from nothing. Drawing on the world of light and shadow, she reflects on lessons for real life. The talk also touches on the international acclaim of Hong Kong cinema and its distinctive aesthetics. Liu has more than 45 years of experience across film, TV, radio, music, stage, publishing and fashion, and her City Magazine covers and Cantopop album sleeves from the 1980s and 1990s are held by M+ and the Hong Kong Heritage Museum.

Especially her cover designs for City Magazines and Cantopop album covers in the 80’s and 90’s have become cultural imprints of that Hong Kong era.
