Emergency Meeting With Railway Operators After Tobu Railway Fatal Accident

In August, four workers clearing weeds near Shin-Kanuma Station on the Tobu Nikko Line in Tochigi Prefecture were struck and killed by the limited express train Spacia X. Following the accident, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism gathered railway operators from across Japan for an emergency meeting on preventing recurrence. Tobu Railway's interim report, submitted in September, identified several rule violations, including a person who was not the site supervisor directing the work. Operators shared the specific safety measures they have introduced after past accidents involving work on tracks.

栃木県の東武日光線で作業員4人が特急列車にはねられ死亡した事故を受け、国土交通省は全国の鉄道事業者を集め、再発防止策などを話し合う緊急会議を開きました。 国土交通省　権藤宗高大臣官房技術審議官 「二度とこのような痛ましい事故を発生させないという強い決意のもと、実際の安全対策のさらなる改善につなげていただきたい」 　8月、栃木県にある東武日光線の新鹿沼駅で、除草中の作業員ら4人が特急列車「スペーシアX」にはねられて死亡しました。 　東武鉄道が9月に国交省へ提出した中間報告書では、事故当時、現場責任者ではない人物が指揮を執っていたなど、複数の規程違反が確認されたことが明らかになっていました。 　こうしたなか、国交省は23日、全国の鉄道事業者を集め、同様の事故の再発防止に向けた緊急連絡会議を開きました。 　会議では、事業者側から過去に線路内での作業中に起きた事故を受けて実施している具体的な安全対策などが共有されたということです。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
