Apartment fire in Tokyo's Ota ward leaves one man dead (November 1, 2026)

An apartment building in Tokyo's Ota ward caught fire in the early hours of November 1, 2026, killing a male resident. The fire was put out about three hours later, and a room of roughly 20 square meters on the second floor of the five-story building was damaged. The resident of the unit, Hiraira Ito, 22, was found in the burned area after contact with him had been lost, and his death was confirmed at a hospital. Police and other authorities are investigating the cause, which is believed to have started indoors.

1日未明、東京・大田区のマンションで火事があり、住人の男性1人が死亡しました。 　午前1時半ごろ、大田区多摩川1丁目のマンションで火事がありました。 　警視庁などによりますと、火はおよそ3時間後に消し止められましたが、5階建てマンションの2階の一室、およそ20平方メートルが焼けました。 　焼け跡から連絡が取れていなかった、この部屋に住む伊藤熙良さん（22）が見つかり、搬送先の病院で死亡が確認されました。 　このほか伊藤さんの家族など4人が煙を吸い込むなどして、けがをしたということです。 　屋内から出火したとみられ、警視庁などが詳しい原因を調べています。 　現場は、東急多摩川線の矢口渡駅からおよそ300メートルの住宅が密集する地域です。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
