Unidentified body found in Tone River, possibly missing junior high school boy

An unidentified body was found on the bank of the Tone River in Kumagaya, Saitama Prefecture. According to police, it is highly likely to belong to a junior high school student who was swept away while fishing last month on the 28th and has been missing since. The missing boy, aged 14, was reported in Tamamura, Gunma Prefecture, about 20 kilometers upstream. Police are working quickly to confirm the identity.

埼玉県熊谷市の利根川で、遺体が見つかりました。先月28日に釣りをしていて流され、行方が分からなくなっていた中学生の可能性が高いということです。 　警察によりますと、8日午前7時ごろ、熊谷市間々田の利根川の河川敷を捜索していた消防隊員が、浅瀬に浮いている遺体を見つけました。 　この遺体が見つかった場所からおよそ20キロ上流の群馬県玉村町では先月28日、釣りをしていた14歳の男子中学生が流されて行方が分からなくなっていました。 　男子中学生は当時、紺色の半ズボンをはいていて、今回発見された遺体と特徴が似ているということです。 　警察は、遺体はこの男子中学生である可能性が高いとみて身元の確認を急いでいます。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
