Axios: White House official says midterm results are not a factor in war decision

Citing sources in the US administration, Axios reported that a major Republican loss in the midterm elections could push President Donald Trump to launch a large military operation against Iran. A White House official denied that the election results play any role in that decision. The report also covers Trump's statements that the war could end soon through diplomacy or military means, with fuel prices expected to fall afterward. It further notes differences between US and Israeli approaches, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's efforts to persuade Washington that the only solution is to topple the Iranian government.
