Large, strong Typhoon No. 30 nears Okinawa, with gale warnings (October 23, 2026)

Large and very strong Typhoon No. 30 is expected to come closest to the Sakishima islands of Okinawa Prefecture on October 23. Winds strong enough to collapse houses are feared. Yonaguni Airport recorded a peak instantaneous wind speed of 41.7 meters per second, the highest for October on record, and very heavy rain has been observed in the Miyako area. After passing, the typhoon is forecast to turn northeast over the East China Sea and may approach and make landfall in Kyushu between October 25 and 26. Heavy rain is also possible from Kyushu to the Kanto region.

台風30号が23日、沖縄県の先島諸島に最も近付く見通しです。家屋が倒壊するような暴風となる恐れがあります。 　大型で非常に強い台風30号は沖縄の南にあって、北西に進んでいます。 　23日夜には強い勢力で与那国島の西の海上に進む予想です。 　台風はその後、東シナ海で北東に向きを変え、25日から26日にかけて九州に接近、上陸する恐れがあります。 　沖縄県の先島諸島では大荒れとなっています。23日朝にかけて与那国空港で最大瞬間風速が41.7メートルと10月の観測史上最大を記録したほか、宮古島地方の各地で非常に激しい雨を観測しています。 　24日朝にかけて降る雨の量は沖縄県の多い所で250ミリ、最大瞬間風速は55メートルと予想されています。 　23日昼過ぎから24日明け方にかけて、宮古島地方と八重山地方では線状降水帯の発生にも警戒が必要です。 　26日にかけて九州から関東でも大雨となる恐れがあります。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
