Uchibo Line to fully resume next month after typhoon suspension; JR East abandons Kururi Line section
JR East has announced that the Uchibo Line, suspended after Typhoon No. 25, will fully resume service from the first train next month on the 9th. Earth and sediment had flowed onto the tracks between Anegasaki and Nagaura stations. The company cited work shared with Chiba Prefecture and progress ahead of schedule as the reasons for the earlier reopening. For the Kururi Line, a survey found about half a year is needed for track restoration, so service resumption there has been abandoned.
