Yamaguchi wagashi shop owner killed: two men arrested

Police in Japan have arrested two men on suspicion of robbery-murder and related charges over the killing of Kazumasa Saito, 80, who ran a Japanese confectionery shop in Mine, Yamaguchi Prefecture. The suspects are alleged to have broken into the shop between the evening of August 27 and the evening of August 28, killing Saito, seriously injuring his wife and taking a safe. Police said they were identified through security camera footage and were not believed to have known Saito. Police have not disclosed the suspects' statements about the charges.

山口県の和菓子店の店主が殺害された事件で、警察は強盗殺人などの疑いで男2人を逮捕しました。 ■長男「人目はばからず号泣」 　今年8月、山口県美祢市で和菓子店を経営する斉藤一正さん（当時80歳）が殺害された事件。今月25日、捜査に大きな動きがありました。 　警察は25日、自称自営業の大倉万輝容疑者（27）と自営業の村岡耕志浪容疑者（26）を強盗殺人などの疑いで逮捕しました。 　25日、亡くなった一正さんの長男が取材に応じ、父への思いを語りました。 「商談の最中に（犯人を逮捕したと）電話があって。お店の玄関先で、人目もはばからず号泣してしまいました」 「（Q.今、お父様に向けたい言葉は？）もう、よかったね。よかったね。ほんと捕まったよ。でも、父も戻ってこないし、お金ももしかしたら戻ってこない」 ■被害者とは面識なし 　逮捕された2人は、8月27日夕方から28日夕方にかけ、一正さん経営の和菓子店に押し入り、一正さんを殺害したほか、妻に重傷を負わせ、金庫を奪った疑いが持たれています。 　警察によりますと、窓が割られたりこじ開けられたりした痕跡はなかったといいます。一方、建物の裏口は鍵が開いた状態だったということです。 　2人は防犯カメラの映像などから捜査線上に浮上。一正さんとは面識はなかったとみられています。 　警察は共犯事件であることを理由に、2人の認否を明らかにしていません。 （「グッド！モーニング」2026年10月26日放送分より） [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
