Goats Doing Weeding at Yotsuya Station, First Inside the Yamanote Line

Two goats are clearing weeds on a vacant lot in front of JR Yotsuya Station. JR East introduced them on October 9 for weeding work, based on an idea from a station staff member. It is the first such use inside the Yamanote Line loop. The activity is planned until December or until the grass on the site runs out.

JR四ツ谷駅前の空き地で、一生懸命草を食べているのは2匹のヤギです。 　1歳のオス「ナギ」と2歳のメス「ポッケ」と名付けられています。 大学1年生 「癒やされます。きょうも授業いっぱい受けてきたんですけど、これで癒やされて帰るのが最近のルーティンです」 　なじみの光景にもなりつつあるヤギですが、実はJR東日本が除草作業のため10月9日から導入したものでした。 　駅員の発案によるもので、山手線の内側では初めてのことです。 　ヤギたちの活動は12月までを予定していますが、敷地内の草がなくなり次第終了するということです。 （「グッド！モーニング」2026年10月21日放送分より）
