The officers also observed a pedestrian standing in the roadway adjacent to the driver’s side door of the vehicle. As officers approached to investigate, they observed the driver, 35-year-old Marco Flores in possession of a handgun. When officers attempted to detain him, Flores fled in the vehicle at a high rate of speed. Officers initiated a vehicle pursuit, which continued into the Hollenbeck Area and ended when Flores crashed into a fence. Flores then exited his vehicle and fled on foot. During the ensuing foot pursuit, Flores produced a handgun and fired at pursuing officers, resulting in an Officer-Involved Shooting (OIS). During the incident, one officer was struck in the chest by gunfire. The round did not penetrate the officer’s ballistic vest, and the officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment and later released. Flores was struck by gunfire, fell to the ground, and dropped his handgun. Officers took Flores into custody, secured the handgun, and requested a Rescue Ambulance (RA). Personnel from the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) responded and transported Flores to a local hospital, where he was treated for multiple gunshot wounds. While there, Flores underwent surgery and is currently listed in critical but stable condition. He is expected to survive. No additional officers or community members were injured during the incident. The investigation determined Flores was driving a reported stolen vehicle. The firearm was recovered at the scene and booked as evidence. Flores is charged with four felony counts of attempted murder, six felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm upon a peace officer, three felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, one felony count of fleeing a pursuing peace officer’s motor vehicle while driving recklessly and one felony count of possession of firearm by a felon with a prior. If convicted as charged, Flores faces multiple life sentences in state prison. 🚨𝑇ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑐ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑛𝑒𝑙 𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑣𝑖𝑑𝑒𝑠 𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑥𝑡𝑢𝑎𝑙 𝑑𝑜𝑐𝑢𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑎𝑛𝑎𝑙𝑦𝑠𝑖𝑠 𝑜𝑓 𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑙 𝑝𝑜𝑙𝑖𝑐𝑒 𝑖𝑛𝑐𝑖𝑑𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑠 𝑢𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑝𝑢𝑏𝑙𝑖𝑐𝑙𝑦 𝑎𝑣𝑎𝑖𝑙𝑎𝑏𝑙𝑒 𝑟𝑒𝑐𝑜𝑟𝑑𝑠. ⚠️𝑉𝑖𝑒𝑤𝑒𝑟 𝑑𝑖𝑠𝑐𝑟𝑒𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑖𝑠 𝑎𝑑𝑣𝑖𝑠𝑒𝑑 𝑑𝑢𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑠𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑜𝑢𝑠 𝑛𝑎𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑛𝑡.⚠️ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Special thanks to Shout-Out Supporters on Patreon: - 'DIY Solar Power with Will Prowse' - 'HauntSync.com' - Cor Hakels - 'Rate A Creator with Omar Alkahlout' - 'Forever A Loner' - KHALID - Michael Griffin - John Doe - 'Twitchypowpow' - Lillian Daley - Tyrell Robertson -
