Description de CNN-News18

“YEH BADTAMEEZI BAND KARIYE KI EMERGENCY LAG GAYI HAI!” BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad has launched a sharp attack on the Opposition over claims that the security restrictions imposed in Delhi ahead of the CJP protest amount to an Emergency-like situation. Prasad accused Opposition parties of challenging democracy in the name of the Constitution while, according to him, relying on falsehoods. He argued that the public mandate must be respected and said India would be governed by Parliament, not by street demonstrations. At the same time, he maintained that the BJP was not opposed to peaceful protests. The BJP leader also pointed to recent bypoll victories as evidence of public support for the ruling side. The BJP won both West Bengal Assembly bypolls in Nandigram and Rejinagar and the Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election in Assam. In Puducherry, BJP ally All India NR Congress (AINRC) retained the Thattanchavady Assembly seat. These results have become part of the political debate as parties trade accusations over public support and democratic accountability. The remarks come amid heightened tensions over the Cockroach Janta Party’s “Save Democracy” mobilisation, which is demanding Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation over the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. The Delhi Police denied permission for the planned demonstration, citing short notice, previous alleged violations of protest conditions and public-order concerns. #RaviShankarPrasad #BJP #DelhiProtests #Emergency #CJP #GyaneshKumar #IndianPolitics #PublicMandate #Democracy n18oc_breakingnews
