Description de TEDx Talks

A reaction on social media takes a second. Margarita Iliopoulou asks whether it matters far more than you think, linking it to digital bank runs and misinformation. In a financial system that runs on trust, what spreads online can have real consequences. This talk was part of the first edition of TEDxEuropean University Institute Florence, held at Palazzo Buontalenti, home to the Florence School of Transnational Governance of the European University Institute (EUI), in the former courtroom of the Court of Appeal of Florence (Italy). Theme: “Agents of Change”. Margarita Iliopoulou is Senior Legal Expert at the EU Single Resolution Board. She is a legal counsel and economist specialising in banking regulation and digital transformation. She has advised on banking supervision and resolution across six jurisdictions, from Berlin to Washington. Her work has taken her across EU institutions and international organisations in Italy, Belgium, Greece and the UK, with a focus on sustainable finance and digital innovation. She is also committed to pro bono work on transparency and anti-corruption. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
