Description de TEDx Talks

Saranya Wyles introduces “skinspan,” the time skin remains healthy, resilient and capable of repair. Drawing on memories of her grandmother and research into aging, she explores how skin may reflect and influence health throughout the body. From inflammation and cellular senescence to AI analysis of faces, she examines promising biological signals and their limits. Her talk reframes skin care as caring for an organ and invites a new question: What is our skin telling us? Saranya Wyles, MD, PhD, is a dermatologist and scientist at Mayo Clinic. She serves as medical director of the Center for Aesthetic Medicine and Surgery and directs the Regenerative Dermatology and Skin Aging Laboratory. Her research examines cellular senescence, wound healing and regenerative therapies for skin health. She earned her medical and doctoral degrees at Mayo Clinic and completed a research fellowship at the Harvard Stem Cell Institute. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
