Source : Mama Doctor Jones.

When medicine becomes a crime, patients suffer. I've moved away (a bit) from reacting to every bit of bad reproductive health news coming out of my home state (Texas) and country (USA), because it's impossible to keep up with everything. But we have to pay attention to this. Recently, Texas authorities arrested a midwife for allegedly providing abortion care. We don't have many details as of right now, but we HAVE to talk about the terrifying slippery slope that this sort of government overreach into healthcare could trigger. Even if preventing people from accessing abortions is the main issue about which you are passionate, I promise it won't stop here. Allowing the government to dictate the practice of medicine means they will just keep trying it, in new and more horrifying ways, until some procedure or medicine or practice that you or a loved one desperately needs is no longer available to you.
