I haven’t seen a criminal trial take over the internet like Lindsay Clancy’s in quite some time. But I think a lot of crucial medical context is missing. Cases like this are devastating, but as a healthcare provider who has treated severe mental health problems in postpartum patients, it is so important that we talk openly about the medical realities that can affect women before and after giving birth. Today, we are breaking down the civil suits filed by Lindsay and her ex-husband, Patrick, against the healthcare providers and institutions that cared for her leading up to the tragic events of January 24, 2023.
