WATCH: Violent clashes have erupted in Brussels as protesters confront police during a nationwide demonstration against Belgium’s proposed budget measures. Police deployed tear gas, water cannons and baton charges to disperse crowds, while demonstrators reportedly set fires on roads as tensions escalated. The demonstration, called by Belgium’s major trade unions, comes as the federal government works on its 2027 budget. Unions are opposing measures under consideration that could affect workers’ incomes and working conditions, including changes to automatic wage indexation, a possible increase in value-added tax (VAT) and a proposal to calculate working hours annually rather than weekly. #Brussels #Belgium #BrusselsProtests #BelgiumProtests #PoliceClashes #TradeUnions #BudgetProtests #TearGas #WaterCannons #EuropeNews #BreakingNews #WorldNews #Protests #EconomicCrisis #WorkersRights n18oc_world News18 Mobile App - https://onelink.to/desc-youtube OC CLEAN CNN-News18 is your trusted source for breaking news, updates, and in-depth analysis from around the world.
