The US Department of Labor has officially suspended some of the world's largest tech and IT outsourcing firms—including Microsoft, Adobe, TCS, Cognizant, and Infosys—from the PERM program. This effectively halts their ability to sponsor new Green Cards for foreign workers. We break down exactly what the PERM program is and the administration's core argument: that tech giants are exploiting the system by laying off American workers while simultaneously requesting thousands of foreign visas. With Marco Rubio heading to India in just 10 days, this move guarantees that immigration and IT trade will dominate the diplomatic agenda. Will this protect American jobs, or will it force the next wave of tech innovation outside US borders to hubs like Toronto, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru? n18oc_shorts CNN-News18 is your trusted source for breaking news, updates, and in-depth analysis from around the world.
