Through his involvement in advancing Nigeria's legal framework for electronic notarisation and digital evidence, he offers a perspective on how innovation can modernise institutions, reduce uncertainty and unlock new economic opportunities across Africa. His talk challenges us to reconsider trust, not simply as a personal virtue, but as an essential foundation for innovation, economic participation and sustainable development. Fikayo Durosinmi-Etti is a Nigerian entrepreneur and technology executive focused on building systems that make trust easier. He is Co-founder and CEO, ToNote, a trust infrastructure company developing technology that enables identities and documents to be created, authenticated and verified. His work sits at the intersection of technology, law and public-sector transformation. Fikayo advocated for reforms that contributed to Nigeria’s Evidence Act 2023 and Notaries Public Act 2023, helping establish a legal foundation for electronic notarisation, digital signatures and modern electronic evidence. Today, ToNote serves as the Supreme Court of Nigeria’s implementation partner for the country’s new national notarial framework. Beyond ToNote, Fikayo is an entrepreneur and investor with interests spanning technology, energy, gaming and hospitality. He’s passionate about building systems that reduce uncertainty, enable commerce and strengthen confidence in African institutions.
