NOTE FROM TED: This talk only represents the speaker’s personal views and understanding of the brain, nervous system, and behavior. Several claims lack sufficient scientific support. TEDx events are independently organized by volunteers. The guidelines we give TEDx organizers are described in more detail here: http://storage.ted.com/tedx/manuals/tedx_content_guidelines.pdf Why do some people move forward despite fear while others remain held back by it? Drawing from neuroscience and personal experience, this talk explores how the brain responds to fear and how courage and resilience can be developed through challenge, adaptation, and purposeful action. Daniel Tri Hendarto is a third-year Computer Science student at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) with a particular interest in cybersecurity and IT governance. Beyond technology, he is deeply interested in understanding how people respond to uncertainty, fear, and adversity. Drawing connections between neuroscience, personal experience, and human behavior, Daniel explores how the brain's capacity for adaptation can help individuals develop courage not as an absence of fear, but as a skill strengthened through challenge and purposeful growth. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
