Ismail al-Thawabta, diretor-geral do Escritório de Mídia do Governo em Gaza, afirmou que a suspensão ou redução do financiamento acelerará a fome e agravará a crise humanitária. Segundo ele, mais de um milhão de pessoas não recebem nenhuma refeição por dia. Ele alertou para as consequências da decisão para mulheres, crianças e idosos, e responsabilizou Israel e a comunidade internacional. Também pediu mais financiamento para agências da ONU, o fim do bloqueio e a entrada de alimentos no território.
