JNU DISMISSES BIMOL AKOIJAM: Jawaharlal Nehru University has dismissed Congress MP and professor Angomcha Bimol Akoijam from university service with immediate effect following an internal inquiry into sexual harassment allegations. The Vice-Chancellor’s order states that the university’s Internal Committee recommended “major punishment” after examining the complaints. CNN-News18 has accessed the inquiry findings, bringing renewed attention to the university’s decision and the questions surrounding the case. The case has reportedly involved complaints from 11 women students. Akoijam, who represents Inner Manipur in the Lok Sabha, has challenged the process, described the controversy as a “witch hunt” and demanded evidence.
