🔴 FORT HOOD SHOOTER’S EXECUTION LIVESTREAM ROW: AMERICA DIVIDED A major controversy is unfolding in the United States after Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth announced plans to livestream the firing squad execution of Nidal Malik Hasan, the former US Army psychiatrist convicted of killing 13 people at Fort Hood, Texas, in 2009. The execution is scheduled for December 3, 2026, at the military base where the shooting took place. Hegseth said the public should be able to watch the execution to understand the consequences of such crimes. But the announcement has triggered bipartisan criticism, with lawmakers, religious leaders and human-rights advocates questioning whether broadcasting an execution would turn capital punishment into a public spectacle. Vice President JD Vance has expressed doubts about whether the livestream will actually happen, saying he would not watch it if it proceeds. President Donald Trump has given mixed signals: he initially said he would make a determination about the broadcast, but later answered affirmatively when asked whether he had approved it. The final arrangements remain unclear. #NidalHasan #FortHood #PeteHegseth #DonaldTrump #JDVance #DeathPenalty n18oc_live CNN-News18 is your trusted source for breaking news, updates, and in-depth analysis from around the world.
