Donald Trump says the United States will not attack Iran 'at any time' before the midterm elections at the start of November. His comments follow US media reports that the Pentagon was preparing plans for fresh strikes and a return to combat operations. Elsewhere the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen attack airports across Saudi Arabia, with smoke billowing over Riyadh as the conflict continues to escalate. And the USS Abraham Lincoln returns to California after a record-breaking deployment to the Middle East, which was plagued by reports of low morale and attempted suicides.
