In this talk, Serena Chen explores the dangers of procrastination, unhealthy work habits, and sacrificing sleep in the pursuit of academic success. Drawing from her personal experience of staying up late even when there was no homework left, she reflects on the misconception that working longer hours and feeling exhausted are signs of productivity and dedication. She challenges this belief by highlighting how sleep deprivation negatively affects concentration, memory, brain function, and physical health. Serena encourages students to rethink their approach to discipline, embrace effective time management, and recognise that adequate rest is not laziness but an essential part of achieving sustainable success.
