Officers arrived and began speaking with the victim and complainant. The two reported Atkinson, who was living in a shed on the property, had come outside and began threatening the victim with a handgun. Officers found Atkinson in the back of the property, as she was inside the shed. The officers identified themselves and gave loud verbal commands for Atkinson to exit the shed. Atkinson came outside and argued loudly with the officers and continued to reach for her jacket pocket. She made statements threatening to shoot first. At one point, Atkinson ran from the backyard toward the street, pointing her gun at the victim. Out on the street, officers gave her loud verbal commands to get on the ground, but she ignored them. In response, an officer deployed his taser, striking Atkinson. Atkinson was able to pull out her gun and fire a round at the officers.
