The incident took place on September 30, 2026, when the aircraft’s co-pilot allegedly attacked Indian Captain Smit Machchhar in the cockpit and attempted to seize control of the plane. The aircraft experienced a sharp loss of altitude before the situation was brought under control with the help of other pilots, crew members and passengers.
