YOGI VS AKHILESH: A political showdown over Ayodhya is gathering momentum ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has accepted Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav’s challenge to contest from Ayodhya and has now invited the SP leader to file his nomination from the same constituency. Speaking at a public event in Balrampur, Yogi said he visits Ayodhya to ensure that development work continues and to protect the city’s cultural and religious identity—not simply to contest elections.
