Flooding on Koyoshi and Ishizawa rivers in Akita, Yurihonjo (21 October 2026) ANN/TV Asahi

Flooding has occurred on the Koyoshi and Ishizawa rivers, which flow through Yurihonjo city in Akita Prefecture. According to the Akita River and National Highway Office, water overflowed the Koyoshi River in the Morako area. Level 5 'emergency safety measures' have been issued for several districts of the city. Intermittent rain across the prefecture has brought 24-hour rainfall to the highest October level on record.
