Ami Nakai Wins GP Series France Event with Comeback Free Skate

Ami Nakai won the women's singles event at the 2026 Grand Prix Series opener in France, scoring 149.08 in the free skate for a total of 219.74. After missing her triple Axel in the short program and sitting third, she landed the opening triple Axel in her free skate and completed most of her other jumps cleanly. Footage shows her celebrating with a fist pump and a broad smile after the routine. Nakai said trusting herself before the music started made the difference, and she aims to reach the GP Final.
