"Don't go, nyan..." Cat lies down on the floor to block owner's path

The video shows Kinako-kun, a 4-year-old cat, who lies down in front of his owner to block their path as they walk. The cat repeats the behavior even when the owner changes direction. According to Dr. Kensuke Furuta, director of Yokohama Aoba Animal Hospital, the cat is seeking attention and showing its presence. Lying on its back with its belly exposed is described as a sign of affection. The owner reportedly gives the cat plenty of strokes when it lies down.
