Drunk driver flees after chain collision in Chiba, 5 injured, 41-year-old man arrested

A 41-year-old man has been arrested in Chiba City after allegedly driving a passenger car while intoxicated and crashing into a kei car waiting at a traffic signal. The impact pushed the kei car into a truck, and another vehicle ahead was also caught up in the collision. Five people were injured, including a 50-year-old woman who was seriously hurt. Police say the driver fled the scene, and the car was later found in a nearby parking lot. The suspect has partially denied the charges.

千葉市の路上で酒に酔った状態で乗用車を運転し、軽乗用車に追突するなどして5人に重軽傷を負わせ、そのまま逃走したとして40代の男が逮捕されました。 　11日、千葉市若葉区の路上で乗用車が信号待ちをしていた軽乗用車に追突しました。 　はずみで軽乗用車はトラックに追突し、さらに前の別の車も巻き込まれました。 　この事故で合わせて5人がけがをし、このうち50歳の女性が重傷です。 　警察によりますと乗用車はその場から逃走していましたが、近くの駐車場で発見されていました。 　運転していた加藤雄規容疑者（41）は酒に酔った状態で事故を起こしたとして、危険運転致傷の疑いなどで22日に逮捕されています。 　取り調べに対し容疑を一部否認しています。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
