METI starts process for business improvement order against Chubu Electric over Hamaoka nuclear plant data irregularities

Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) has started procedures under the Administrative Procedure Act toward a business improvement order against Chubu Electric Power. The order would be issued under the Electricity Business Act following data irregularities at the Hamaoka nuclear plant. Minister Akazawa said the order would be issued as early as possible. Chubu Electric has responded with measures including a renewal of its management structure, which METI says it will examine closely.

浜岡原発のデータ不正などを受け、赤沢経済産業大臣は中部電力に対し、業務改善命令に向けた手続きを開始すると明らかにしました。 赤沢経産大臣 「早期に電気事業法に基づく業務改善命令を発出すべく、行政手続法に基づく手続きを本日開始いたします」 　中部電力を巡っては浜岡原発の再稼働に向けた審査で、想定される地震の揺れのデータを改ざんするなど、不祥事が相次いで発覚しています。 　経産省は中部電力に対し、事実関係などについて報告を求め、29日、中部電力側から経営体制の刷新といった再発防止策などに関する回答がありました。 　赤沢大臣はこれらの内容を精査し「最大限厳格に対応していきたい」としています。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
