AI tool from China used in cyberattacks on Japanese firms, security firm's investigation finds
A security company under the GMO Internet Group has confirmed that some of the recent unauthorized access incidents in Japan involved ARTEX, an autonomous AI tool developed by an engineer in China. The investigation also found six AI-enabled attack devices targeting Japanese companies. Eight of the targeted firms had already issued information leak notices between September and October. The researchers assess that the attacks focus on specific countries and industries.
