Former Fukuoka prefectural assembly member Masahiko Niimura testified that, before becoming vice speaker, he handed ¥5 million to Isao Kuranai, then head of the LDP assembly group, at a restaurant in Nakasu. He said the payment was made at the request of Toshio Yoshimura, a former assembly member and head of the former Democratic-aligned group.
