GMO asks users to shut down PCs ahead of noon attack warning
GMO Internet Group asked users of affected servers to shut down their computers, after an attack was announced for noon on the 27th. A suspected attacker warned that user information would be published and a ransomware attack carried out at that time. Unauthorized access targeted a server used for FX automated trading, and GMO continues to analyze the computers it received from users, with security firms offering help. GMO has said that complying with the demands would not guarantee deletion of data and will not give in to them.
