GMO data leak: up to 3 million yen condolence payments and $1 million reward offered

GMO Internet Group has announced that it will pay condolence money of up to 3 million yen to users whose personal information was published by attackers in an unauthorized access incident. The payment is divided into three tiers based on the level of information disclosed, with basic items such as names set at 10,000 yen. The group also created a reward totaling $1 million (about 150 million yen) for information that could help identify those involved. Information will be accepted from the 28th.

GMOインターネットグループは不正アクセスの攻撃側から個人情報が公開された利用者に上限300万円の見舞金を支払うと発表しました。また、攻撃側に関する有力な情報には1億5000万円の懸賞金を創設するとしました。 　GMOは攻撃側によって公開された情報に利用者の情報が含まれていることを確認した場合、氏名など基本的なものには1万円など情報のレベルに応じて金額を3段階に分け、300万円を上限に見舞金を支払うということです。 　また、不正アクセスの関与者の特定などにつながる情報を募る「懸賞金」を創設すると発表しました。 　総額で100万ドル、日本円で約1億5000万円で、28日から情報を受け付けるということです。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
