Bear returns from deep mountains in Hadano, Kanagawa; captured, released, then caught on installed camera (October 25, 2026)
A Japanese black bear was recorded by a camera installed near Zenpa Pass in Hadano, Kanagawa Prefecture. The city checked a transmitter attached to the animal and found it matched a bear captured at a nearby park on the 20th. The city, in coordination with the prefecture, had released the bear in a remote mountain area away from human habitats. Following the bear's reappearance, the mountain road leading to Kobo Park has been closed.
