Season's first cold snap on Rittō brings first snow to Asahikawa, Hokkaido, and a string of slip accidents

On Rittō, the day marking the start of winter on the calendar, the season's strongest cold air mass brought snow to mountainous areas in the Kanto region. Snow fell from morning at Tenjin Pass in Minakami, Gunma Prefecture, where temperatures dropped below freezing. In Hokkaido, cities including Asahikawa recorded the first snow cover of the season, and a series of slip accidents was reported on the 7th.
